About the Partnership
The University of Zurich and the University of Geneva signed a strategic partnership agreement in December 2017. This new partnership joins the two largest universities in the German- and French-speaking parts of Switzerland that have already maintained close relationships in research, teaching and student exchange. The strategic partnership aims to foster and intensify these links and strengthen the visibility and outreach of both institutions within Switzerland and abroad.
A one-semester exchange goes by very quickly but is definitely worth it.
The exchange have not only enhanced the German-speaking students’ skills in the French legal language and vice versa, but also provided excellent opportunities for professors of both universities to meet and discover shared research and teaching interests.
That was a key experience that I recommend to every French-anxious person!
My own research has benefitted from this interdisciplinary environment, as it gives me the occasion to constantly revise communicative strategies and language. My doctoral students have stimulating exchanges with their peers and occasions to present their work to scholars from other disciplines, a training in interdisciplinarity that I consider crucial for their future careers.
It’s a great experience not so far from home.
